Spring 2025 | Horticulture Capstone Project
Instructor | Prof. Stevie Famulari, Gds
The ten students in the horticulture capstone each create their own project to reflect their knowledge, interest and research in the extensive field of horticulture. Their research proudly explores:
-Palliative care green designs
-PTSD horticultural therapy for veterans
-The relationship between soil quality and income
-An arboretum for community health
-Green design for alleviating endangered bird populations
-IPM alternatives for heathy spaces
-Using hemp for remediation
-Memorial gardens for healing
-Food deserts and the use of art for community health
-Interior greening with living furniture
This creative and vast range of projects illustrate how wonderfully large and relatable horticulture is to other fields, areas of study, and the community beyond.
