Mehring River District
Stimulating Economic Growth using Cincinnati’s Riverfront

To address the growing need for public space and maximize its full economic potential, activating Cincinnati's underutilized riverfront land is essential. Specifically targeting the industrial riverfront in Queensgate, urban strategies and solutions seek to transform this historically industrial area and re-establish its connection to the river through green infrastructure, water quality enhancements, and thoughtful site programming. The proposed plans aim to revitalize the Queensgate neighborhood through targeted reinvestment strategies that enhance economic opportunity, improve public health outcomes, and foster long-term socio-economic growth. By doing so, the initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the overall GDP of the Cincinnati region and create a more equitable, thriving city.
