For many years our understanding of photovoltaic(PV) solar arrays has been based on the constraints of early adopted models and methods. With the recent rapid development in efficiency and better understanding of the benefits and application of PV solar arrays, I propose using parking lot solar canopies in combination with rooftop solar arrays to both produce clean energy and tackle heat island effect while providing shade to motorists and roof tops.
