Dementia-Inclusive Neighborhood Planning
Transforming Lockland’s built and natural environment to support people living with dementia. Aging with grace.

Dementia-Inclusive Neighborhood Planning investigates what it means for a town to be friendly toward residents with dementia as an aging population trend continues in America. With care facilities often inaccessible or exorbitantly expensive, many face a "shrinking world" where public life becomes isolating. The project proposes redesigning neighborhoods to support aging in place through initiatives like the healing properties of nature, community programs, and changes to the built environment.
